FAQs
What does a Clinical Nutritionist do?
I won’t blame you if you think all a nutritionist does is to tell you to cut out the foods you love and replace them with green smoothies. I’m happy you’re here - so that I can change your mind! As a Clinical Nutritionist I take a comprehensive approach to your health by focusing on you as a whole person rather than just your individual symptoms. I combine evidence-based nutritional science with a focus on how diet, lifestyle, and other factors influence your overall wellbeing.
Here’s a rundown of what I typically do:
Assess Individual Health Needs:
Evaluate your dietary habits, medical history, lifestyle, and health goals
Identify potential nutrient deficiencies or hormone imbalances
Personalise Nutrition Plans:
Create customised dietary recommendations tailored to your health goals, preferences, and restrictions
Focus on Root Causes:
Investigate and address the underlying causes of your health concerns
Work to restore balance in the body rather than just alleviating your symptoms
Holistic Approach:
Consider factors beyond just food, such as sleep quality, stress management, movement, mental health and your environment
Recommend lifestyle changes to support overall health
Educate and Empower:
Teach my clients about the importance of nutrient-dense, whole foods and how to make sustainable changes
Provide tools and resources to foster long-term health and wellness
Collaborate:
Work alongside doctors, naturopaths, or other healthcare providers to ensure you feel fully supported by a diverse team
Collaborate with you to ensure your treatment plan is 100% personalised to YOU!
What do you help your clients with?
I’m passionate about helping my clients experience better digestion & gut health, as well as healthier, glowing skin. Because everything in the body is intricately connected, by addressing gut and skin health concerns my clients also experience better sleep, improved energy levels, more stable moods, better exercise performance, problem-free periods, a more robust immune system and a better understanding of their own bodies. Whether you want to get on top of symptoms you’ve been experiencing for years, or you just want some help choosing what to have for dinner - I’m here for you!
What happens in an appointment?
In our first appointment together we will chat about your current symptoms and what you’d like to achieve by working together. I’ll also ask questions around your health & medical history, family history, diet and lifestyle including sleep, stress, occupation and what you like to do for fun. Knowing all this information allows me to connect the dots about what factors could be contributing to your current experience of health. From there, we will collaborate on your treatment plan which gives us a clear guide on how we’re going to correct your symptoms and achieve your unique health goals. Subsequent appointments will ensure we’re on track to achieving said symptoms improvement and getting you closer to achieving your health goals.
What will I have to do?
The recommendations I provide have been carefully considered for you, taking into consideration your current symptoms, your goals and how you’d like to feel. We will collaborate on them to ensure they’re both appropriate and achievable for you. It’s important that you implement and maintain these recommendations as best as you can, to ensure you experience the improvements we’re looking for. Particularly with skin, it can take months to see results - so consistency is key. Whilst I’ll be there to support you and help you implement the changes as seamlessly as possible, ultimately it is up to you how much you get out of us working together!
How often will we see each other?
This largely depends on what you’re wanting support with and what your health goals are! Appointments will be closer together in the initial stages of your treatment plan, and become less frequent as we make progress towards your goals. Your time and money are both precious, so we will see each other only as frequently as is required.
